Pollcracy

Poll is 'encuesta' in english. 'Pollcracy' is the nearest translation we found to 'Encuestocracia'. For us, in Latin America, 'Encuestocracia' tries to express the situation when polls, numbers and statistics rule in politics and in the way we live. However, the expression also leaves a kind of hesitation when we use it.

'La Posverdad Criolla' chose 'Pollcracy' as an episode, because we do believe that it has something to do with the phenomenon of Postruth.

In Postruth, emotion is more relevant than reason when someone takes a decission. Polls use to produce emotions and may change the votes for unexpected results.
